Updates from Principal Kamoku
Large class sizes and staffing - advocating for staffing and support to manage class sizes so students can learn collectively with minimal distractions
Tying schools and communities together as a main theme for this year. Will continue to update parents and staff on ways they can contribute
2. Parent concerns and advocacy
Dramatic reduction in Advanced Learning (AL) options for math and problems associated. Principal expressed awareness and is working toward a solution.
Late start and dismissal times continue to be a challenge for many and poses safety risks for students walking home in the dark, reduced participation in extracurricular activities, and creates high levels of stress with transitions. Principal Kamoku encourages concerned families to reach out to the MMSD Board and Superintendent. (Email PTO for contact info)
